The peninsula is a lovely series of quiet bays and unspoilt beaches. Experience the beauty of Matakatia Bay (left), at the well known Matakatia Magic Cafe (they serve wonderful Paninis), Stanmore Bay and Army Bay. You can pick cockles at Shakespeare Park, just minutes from Golf View.

Just around the corner from Golf View, paradise is taking shape.

Tiri Tiri Matangi Island
Tiritiri Matangi ('looking to the wind'or'wind tossing about') lies 4km off the coast of Whangaparaoa Peninsula.
Tiritiri Matangi is a scientific reserve and a sanctuary for rare wildlife. Visitors are welcome but are asked to treat the island with care and respect.

Tiritiri is being replanted with native trees, both to accelerate the natural regeneration of the coastal forest, and to provide a rich and varied habitat for bird species.
